Martino breaking Neymar in gently

Barcelona have been keen to avoid overburdening new signing Neymar but Wednesday's Spanish Super Cup second leg at home to Atletico Madrid may see him included in the starting line-up for the first time.
Coach Gerardo Martino has left the Brazil forward on the bench until the final half hour of all three of the Spanish champions' competitive games this term following his close-season move from Santos for €57 million.
He netted the equaliser in last Wednesday's Super Cup first leg at the Calderon with a fine header to secure a 1-1 draw, but was on the bench again for their 1-0 win over Malaga in La Liga on Sunday.
With World Player of the Year Lionel Messi possibly coming back from injury and the home crowd behind him, the return match against Atletico may be the ideal moment to deploy the 21-year-old from the off.
Neymar showed off some of his trademark skill and pace in their nervy win at Malaga and tested home goalkeeper Willy Caballero with a curling free kick before seeing a deflected effort fly narrowly over.
"I don't know how much time is left," Martino told reporters after the Malaga game when asked when Neymar would be ready to take his place in the starting 11.
"What I do believe is that mentally he is ready and we will decide on the right moment," added the Argentine, brought in last month to replace the ailing Tito Vilanova.
"The good thing is that he plays half an hour and in that half an hour he always does something positive for the team."
Breaking Neymar in gently has been a wise move from Martino and the Barca staff given the intensity of the club's matches and his relatively slight physical stature.
He was again the target of a series of robust challenges during Sunday's game and did well not to react when Malaga fullback Jesus Gamez appeared to butt him in the face.
Given the lack of cutting edge Barca showed at Malaga's Rosaleda stadium and the possible absence of Messi on Wednesday, Martino could well be tempted to deploy Neymar instead of Cesc Fabregas, Pedro or Alexis Sanchez.
"We did not sign Neymar for one or two games but for a number of seasons," sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta said in an interview with Spanish television broadcaster Canal Plus after the Malaga game.
"Just because Messi doesn't play doesn't mean he has to play," added the former Spain and Barca goalkeeper.
"He is showing great ability to adapt to our team and our league and when he is 100 percent integrated we will see more of him."
DIFFERENT PROPOSITION
Atletico warmed up for their trip to the Catalan capital with a 5-0 thrashing of Rayo Vallecano in La Liga but know that getting the better of Barca at their giant Nou Camp arena is an entirely different proposition.
Coach Diego Simeone, a compatriot of Barca counterpart Martino, is expecting the same intensity from his players they showed at the Calderon on Sunday to steamroller their city rivals.
"We don't know how to play any other way," he told a news conference. "We maintain this high tempo and we feel comfortable with that."
The Super Cup pits the La Liga champions against the King's Cup winners.
Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid beat Barca to win last year's competition on away goals after the two-legged tie ended 4-4 on aggregate.
Barca won three in a row under Pep Guardiola from 2009-2011, while Atletico last won in 1985 when they beat Barca.
The last time the Cup winners beat the league champions was in 2007 when Sevilla overcame Real Madrid.

Rooney likely to start against Blues

Manchester United manager David Moyes will take charge of his first home Barclays Premier League fixture at Old Trafford against Chelsea on Monday with Wayne Rooney likely to start after recovering from injury.
The match will be streamed live on Supersport.com as well as conventional coverage on SS3 HD and SS3.
Sir Alex Ferguson’s successor saw his side post an excellent 4-1 win on the opening day of the season at Swansea City last weekend, with Robin van Persie and Danny Welbeck scoring doubles for the champions.
But they are likely to face a sterner test against Jose Mourinho's Chelsea, who started their campaign with consecutive home wins against Hull City and Aston Villa.
Since being confirmed as United manager, Moyes has had to wait more than 100 days for his first competitive fixture in front of the club's supporters.
"There have been a lot of things I have been looking forward to - like taking the team on tour and leading them out at Wembley,” Moyes said. "But to do it at Old Trafford for the first game against Chelsea is a thrill for me, it really is."
With both sides set to challenge for the Barclays Premier League title, the fixture will have plenty riding on it, with neither camp willing to concede early ground to their rivals. Rooney could make his first start under Moyes after recovering from injury.
"Wayne's got a good chance of playing,” Moyes said. “He has [a] good chance of starting [also].”
Brazilian defender Rafael Da Silva (hamstring) is a certainty to miss, as is Darren Fletcher (illness) and Nick Powell (leg) for United. Ashley Young (ankle), Nani (groin) and Javier Hernandez (hamstring) are unlikely to feature.
Chelsea have not lost in their last 10 Barclays Premier League fixtures, a run that included a 1-0 win at Old Trafford in May. While Manchester United's home Barclays Premier League record is outstanding - they have won 51 of their last 59 home matches, losing just five – two of those defeats came against Chelsea. The two sides played each other five times last term, with Chelsea knocking their rivals out of both the FA Cup and the Capital One Cup.
Mourinho’s only concern is David Luiz, who is a doubt to feature due to a hamstring injury.
Manchester United (from): Amos, De Gea, Lindegaard, Buttner, Evans, Evra, Fabio, Ferdinand, Jones, M Keane, Smalling, Varela, Vidic, Anderson, Carrick, Cleverley, Giggs, Januzaj, Kagawa, Nani, Valencia, Young, Bebe, Hernandez, Henriquez, W Keane, Macheda, Rooney, Van Persie, Welbeck, Zaha.
Chelsea (from): Blackman, Cech, Hilario, Schwarzer, Ake, Azpilicueta, Bertrand, Cahill, Cole, Ivanovic, Luiz, Terry, De Bruyne, Essien, Hazard, Lampard, Mata, McEachran, Mikel, Moses, Oscar, Ramires, Van Ginkel, Ba, Lukaku, Schurrle, Torres.

The Reds are hopeful of landing the Nigerian winger who has fallen down the pecking order in Jose Mourinho’s side since the beginning of the new season

Liverpool are targeting Chelsea midfielder Victor Moses for a season-long loan deal. The 25-year-old has seen his chances of playing in the Blues’ first team reduced following the arrival of Brazilian winger Willian from Anzhi Makachkala.
According to Daily Mail, Chelsea expect Liverpool to pay £2million loan fee for the Nigerian.
However, Liverpool want to try to secure the deal at a reduced price.
Moses earns £55,000 a week at Chelsea and Liverpool are reluctant to match that.
Even though Moses was instrumental in Chelsea’s run to the Europa League final last season, he has since become surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge since the return of Jose Mourinho.
With the 2014 World Cup looming, the winger needs to play regularly in order to secure a place in the Nigeria team that is aiming to qualify for its fourth Mundial.
Liverpool coach Brenda Rodgers hopes his long-standing relationship with Mourinho will help steer the deal in Liverpool’s direction this week ahead of transfer deadline day on September 2.
Moses has been told that Chelsea are unlikely to agree to his sale, but they will let the winger leave for a season.

Broke fan comments: J.Martins blasts Wizkid

J.martins in a recent interview on Hot Fm 98.3 Abuja reacted to Wizkid’s outburst after he (Wizkid) was told by a fan he needed to go back to school for his poor use of tenses. Wizkid had lashed back calling the writer a BROKE FAN
J Martins on the show said ‘I’m not taking any side, don’t mean no beef, no disrespect, and no hate but let the truth be told. I don’t believe because you feel you have a few change you didn’t have a few years ago and which you cannot guarantee having in a few years to come then you wake up and look at those people who have cheered you up, loved you, supported your music, bought your CD’s, prayed for you, just because you can lay your hands on some phone and you call them ‘poor’. Am not in and will never be in support of anyone who has such bad attitude.
“It needs to be corrected, we owe our fans the duty of being good examples that’s why they hold us in high esteem, that’s why you are a role model and if you know you cannot be a good role model you have no business in Music. You don’t know if it’s that person that might help you tomorrow, whoever does that should be checked. “You have to decide why you are in the music industry. If you know you cannot be a role model then you have no business being there”
Wizkid had written “Broke people always think they have an opinion” to a fan on his instagram page, after erroneously typing ‘i have an hangover’ just as he was about to perform at a wedding ceremony, leading to this fan to reply ‘you see why you have to go back to school’
Wizkid had been immediately immersed in retaliatory tweets from angry fans as soon the instagram exchange went viral. J.Martins is the first celebrity to make his comments on the issue.

Lady Gaga: ‘When I’m not on stage I don’t feel alive’

Lady Gaga only feels properly alive when she is on stage and thinks she is just like everyone else who is bursting to release their creative energy.
The singer – who is set to give her first live rendition of her new single ‘Applause’ from her album ‘ARTPOP‘ at the MTV Video Music Awards in New York City this Sunday August 25, 2013 – finds meaning to her existence when is performing.
She said: ‘When I’m not on stage I don’t feel alive. But when I hit the stage it’s like everything that I’m thinking and feeling, where I belong – that’s where it is.’ But the eccentric star doesn’t think she is different from anyone else, because most people have creative energy they want to release.
Gaga explained: ‘I don’t think I am different from anybody else. I think everyone with their location and their job and what they do, their passion, feel the same way I do. It’s sort of like we are endlessly obsessing about what we are creating and then the explosion is the moment where we get to share.’
The pop genius was forced to take time out after hip surgery to correct a tear and breakage inside the joint in February and consequently cancelled the remaining dates on her ‘Born This Way Ball’, and now she is very excited about getting back to work.
The 27-year-old singer told UK station Radio 1: ‘I don’t ever think about anything else other than working anyway. I’m quite used to being in a mental state. It’s a good stress, I have thought of nothing but performing since my injuries earlier in the year.’

Chris Brown rants over community services

Pop singer Chris Brown was sentenced to 1000 hours of community service last week for not completing his initial community service stemming from the Rihanna incident in 2009.
The star however isn’t too happy about this. Chris Brown went on a Twitter rant to state his displeasure about his community service extension.
‘Nigga done 6 months community service wit police and the DA racist ass crying to the judge that I didn’t do it’, he wrote.
‘F@#k the SYSTEM! How about y’all take care of all the homeless kids and families on skid row. Promote helping people that are really f@#ked up in your city!’ he added, concluding, ‘I ain’t gotta @ no niggas. If u feel offended… F@#k u’.
Chris Brown has hinted that his next album X might be his last because of constant media scrutiny.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West in ‘power struggle’

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are reportedly locked in a ‘power struggle‘ over how they will handle their public lives since the birth of their daughter North West.
It is said the ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians‘ star is ‘upset’ with the amount of control the rapper is taking when it comes to major announcements about her first child North. An insider told RadarOnline.com: ‘Kim is getting really upset that Kanye has been taking over and making all of the public announcements about baby North.
‘She hasn’t been able to do anything. She didn’t announce that she was pregnant. She didn’t get to show off the baby first. ’Kanye is doing everything and it’s causing a huge power struggle between the two of them.’ The ‘Clique‘ hitmaker is notoriously private and reportedly wants to control his partner and their daughter’s private lives – which is at odds with Kim’s public persona. The source said: ‘Kanye wants to make sure that every single aspect of Kim’s life is now handled the way he wants it to be. ‘Kim likes having her picture taken and she knows that she has to do that in order to stay relevant and so she still keeps in touch with paps who can take her picture. ’It is never a surprise when a photographer gets a picture of Kim, and so the two times that she’s been with the baby, at the doctor’s appointment and at Kanye’s grandfather’s funeral, and been photographed are most likely because she has been tipping them off and this is infuriating her baby daddy.’
